Co-operative development grants program
Funding for the Co-operative Development Grants Program is provided to conduct research, provide education and conduct feasibility studies to assist in maintaining a viable and economical co-operative sector throughout NSW. Funding of up to 50% towards the total cost of a proposed project is available.
Key dates
Funding is generally provided over a 12 month period, depending on the project. Applications for grants can be made at any time.
Who can apply?
Applications can be made by:

Co-operatives incorporated under the Co-operatives Act 1992 or enterprises/groups wishing to determine the benefits or appropriateness of registering as a co-operative under the Act

Registered trade unions
-
Universities, TAFE and other academic institutions and research bodies, and
-
Government agencies, councils and other agencies if the application relates to the core business of those agencies.
What will be funded?
The objective of the program is to provide funding to co-operatives and eligible groups to assist in the development and viability of prospective and newly formed co-operatives. Funding is provided for conducting research, providing education and conducting feasibility studies to assist co-operatives throughout NSW.
Funding of up to 50% towards the total cost of the proposed project is available.
Current priorities
The Office of Fair Trading recognises and values the social and commercial activities that co-operatives contribute towards the NSW economy. Fair Trading is committed to providing information, support and in part funding to co-operatives and eligible groups to conduct research and provide education that assists in the growth and continued viability of the NSW co-operative sector.
