What is this about?
This review seeks the views of stakeholders on a proposal to combine the Motor Dealers Act 1974 and the Motor Vehicle Repairs Act 1980 and create a consolidated Act with clear upfront aims and objectives for the regulation of industry and effective consumer protection in the motor vehicle industry.
Top of pageWhat's happening?
An issues paper was released which outlined key issues and invited comments from stakeholders and other interested parties. The consultation period has ended and Fair Trading is now reviewing the submissions.
Next steps
NSW Fair Trading is currently considering the submissions received to date. It is anticipated that a number of roundtable discussions with stakeholders on particular issues will be held in September/October.
