The Deal is in the Detail

Each year, we run a week-long celebration to raise awareness of fair trading issues in the community. This year the theme for Fair Trading Week is ‘The Deal is in the Detail’ and the focus is on understanding the fine print in typical consumer transactions.

Reading the details in any document you sign, whether it is a mobile phone contract, a credit card agreement, or the terms of an extended warranty is very important. Not knowing what you are signing for can sometimes cost you dearly. Often the most important details are in the fine print. Unless you read and understand the full implications of any contract before you sign, you may not know exactly what you are agreeing to.

Program of events

As part of Fair Trading Week, special events will be organised across NSW. Some of the events featured will include a youth forum, business seminars and workshops, consumer information stands at shopping centres, open days at Fair Trading Centres, and many other activities across the State.
