Lessons on Tribunal for community workers
11 June 2008
Fair Trading Minister Linda Burney today invited workers and organisations assisting people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to attend a Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT) information session.
The information session will be held on Monday, 30 June in the Wattle Room at the Blacktown Workers Club, Level 1/55 Campbell Street, Blacktown from 1pm to 3pm.
Ms Burney said the session is part of a program of events aimed at increasing awareness about the valuable and accessible services the CTTT provides to the community.
“The role of the CTTT is to resolve disputes between tenants, landlords, traders and consumers in a timely and effective manner. Each year, over 130,000 people access its services at 95 venues across metropolitan and regional NSW.
“The CTTT also has eight registries across the State and a comprehensive website full of information and resources to help its customers and the broader community.
“The information session in Blacktown has been specially designed for advocacy services, community workers and organisations helping people from culturally diverse backgrounds,” Ms Burney said.
This session is the next of the 50 information sessions that will have been delivered by CTTT experts by 30 June 2008.
Presented by a Tribunal member and staff, the Blacktown information session will focus on topics including:
-
An overview of CTTT proceedings
-
