27 January 2010
Fair Trading Minister Virginia Judge today announced $11,000 funding for the Co-operative Federation of NSW Limited under the Co-operatives Development Grants Program.
Ms Judge said the funding will assist the Federation with its 2010 Co-operative Opportunities Conference which is being held at Sydney University on 18-19 February.
“This annual event encourages a networking environment for co-operative professionals and helps them develop new ideas and training initiatives in the co-operative sector,” she said.
“The Co-operatives Development Grants Program is an initiative of the NSW Government and provides funding for research projects, education and feasibility studies.
“The aim of the program is to support the co-operative sector and encourage it to grow and remain a viable part of our economy.”
Ms Judge said the program is administered by Fair Trading.
“The Co-operatives Development Grants Program is advertised on a regular basis and applications can be submitted at any time,” she said.
“To apply for funding assistance, applicants must complete the application form provided by Fair Trading.
“I congratulate the Co-operative Federation of NSW Limited on their successful funding grant and look forward to their ongoing achievements within the Co-operative sector in 2010,” Ms Judge said.
