Fair Trading Minister Virginia Judge is encouraging retirement village residents and operators to attend free information sessions about new laws which will start on 1 March.

Ms Judge said new rules for retirement villages would deliver important benefits for residents and improve certainty for operators.

“These new laws are the result of a thorough review process and extensive consultation with residents, industry organisations and the community,” she said.

“The free information sessions will give resident and operators an opportunity to discuss the changes and to find out how they will work.

“Copies of the new laws can be downloaded from the Fair Trading website.”
