Fair Trading staff rewarded
4 June 2010
Fair Trading Minister Virginia Judge today congratulated Fair Trading staff as she presented three team and 11 individual Fair Trading Service Awards, including a special Minister’s Award, at the agency’s Parramatta headquarters.
The winners included:
- a team that developed a new software scheduling system for the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT)
- an individual whose investigative skills have repeatedly helped bring unscrupulous traders to task
- an internationally renowned electrical products expert and
- a group working behind the scenes to improve consumer protection frontline services.
Ms Judge said she was delighted to present awards to workers whose efforts were quietly helping shape improved consumer outcomes in New South Wales.
“As well as providing exceptional public service, these award winners have inspired their colleagues with their dedication, leadership and enthusiasm,” she said.
“I am especially pleased to present the Minister’s Award to Senior Information Officer, Melissa Lorens.
“Melissa works at the Fair Trading Information Centre at Parramatta and makes an outstanding contribution to staff development and quality customer service, informed by superior technical, legislative and procedural knowledge.
“She has provided leadership and vision and is well deserving of this recognition.”
The Minister extended her sincere thanks to all winners and the Fair Trading team.
“I commend the Fair Trading workforce for its ongoing efforts to ensure a fair marketplace for consumers and traders in this great state,” she said.
