Christmas decorative rope lights recall
14 December 2010
NSW Fair Trading Deputy Commissioner Steve Griffin today warned the state’s consumers about the voluntary recall of three varieties of Christmas rope lights.
Mr Griffin said the Christmas Essentials brand of decorative lights, the 10M Rope Light Static – 9338195433312, 10M Rope Light with Function – 9338195433329 and 10M Connectable Rope Light – 9338195433336, were sold nationally between 23 September and 4 November 2010.
“The products, sold through retail outlets Sam’s Warehouse, Crazy Clark’s, Go-Lo and Chickenfeed, are being recalled as they may contain exposed or un-insulated wiring,” he said.
“This defect creates a serious risk of electric shock or fire.” Mr Griffin said consumers should stop using the product immediately and return them to any Sam’s Warehouse, Crazy Clark’s, Go-Lo or Chickenfeed store for a refund.
