CTTT seeking feedback on tenancy dispute forms and information

2 June 2011

NSW Fair Trading Minister Anthony Roberts is encouraging NSW people to provide feedback to the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT) on its new tenancy dispute forms and information.

Mr Roberts said since 2002, the CTTT had helped more than 800,000 tenants, landlords and their agents sort out tenancy disputes.

“Over that time, the CTTT has improved and reviewed its dispute resolution processes and accompanying products and services to keep up with consumer and trader needs and expectations,” he said.

“The most recent improvements have resulted in more user-friendly tenancy and social housing dispute application forms, introduced earlier this year to complement the Residential Tenancies Act 2010.

“There have also been improvements to the CTTT Online lodgement facility to simplify online applications for these types of disputes.”

Mr Roberts said the Residential Tenancies Act 2010 commenced on 31 January 2011.

“Feedback is sought from people who have applied to the CTTT since the commencement of the new tenancy laws,” he said.

Have your say about changes made to:

  • CTTT Tenancy Division printed application forms
  • CTTT Social Housing Division printed application forms
  • Online lodgement of tenancy and social housing applications
  • Supporting website information.

The Minister said continuous improvement was a mark of good government.

The survey is available on the CTTT website www.cttt.nsw.gov.au and is open until the end of June 2011.
