Minister to launch Out of Credit DVD
Fair Trading Minister Anthony Roberts will visit communities on the Central Coast and in Newcastle this week, attending a range of events with local Members of Parliament, Garry Edwards (Swansea), Darren Webber (Wyong), Andrew Cornwell (Charlestown) and Tim Owen (Newcastle).
Minister Roberts will attend two residential park community forums at Doyalson and Belmont. (details below).
The Minister said the NSW Government was currently undertaking a comprehensive review of the Residential Parks Act 1998 and Regulation, to improve the governance and regulation of residential parks.
“On 3 November last year I released a discussion paper seeking broad community feedback on the current laws and some options for reform,” he said.
“The discussion paper is available on the Fair Trading website or by calling 13 32 20. I encourage people to contribute their views by lodging comments directly online, by returning the submission form at the back of the paper, or by sending a submission to NSW Fair Trading. Submissions close on 29 February.”
Mr Roberts will also attend a real estate information seminar in Charlestown and attend price scanning inspections at supermarkets in Warners Bay and Newcastle, before launching a DVD, Out of Credit, to help Indigenous people with financial literacy.
“This fantastic resource was developed from an innovative Fair Trading theatre production, undertaken in collaboration with Rod Smith Productions in Newcastle, that toured throughout New South Wales, before attracting national funding,” he said.
