Public warning - Do not deal with Eve Harbour Cruises

4 January 2013

New South Wales Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe is warning consumers not to deal with Eve Harbour Cruises Pty Ltd of Castle Hill NSW.

Eve Harbour Cruises Pty Ltd and its Director Allen Yousif advertise Sydney harbour cruises on charter vessel MV Eve. The company has failed to provide cruise services over the Christmas period and New Years Eve which were paid for by consumers. A substantial number of consumers have suffered detriment as a result of the cruises not proceedings and have been unable to contact the company to obtain a refund.

Eve Harbour Cruises Pty Ltd advertises cruises at www.eveharbourcruises.com.au and the website continues to advertise bookings for future cruises.

Mr Stowe said consumers who continue to deal with Eve Harbour Cruises Pty Ltd face a substantial risk of losing money through similar cancellations.

Mr Stowe said NSW Fair Trading is continuing to investigate the activities of Eve Harbour Cruises Pty Ltd and its Director Mr Yousif and urged consumers who have suffered a loss dealing with the company to contact NSW Fair Trading.

“I encourage anyone who has had prior dealings with Eve Harbour Cruises Pty Ltd and has not received the services they paid for to contact NSW Fair Trading on 13 32 20, lodge a complaint online at www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au or lodge a complaint at any Fair Trading Centre,” he said.
