National Consumer Congress

The National Consumer Congress is the premiere annual event on the consumer protection calendar in Australia. The Congress brings together the key stakeholders in the Australian consumer protection framework, including Federal and State Government officials, consumer advocacy groups and business representatives, as well as interested members of the public.

Consumers 2011

Consumers 2011 took place in Sydney on 6,7 and 8 June 2011. The theme of the 2011 Congress was 'Australian Consumer Policy, Law and Practice'.

The 2011 congress was held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour and provided an opportunity for compliance professionals, business people, lawyers, consumer advisers and advocates to hear from and mix with Australia’s leading consumer policy and enforcement officials along with expert practitioners and academics.

Features of this year's congress were the release the results of the Australian Consumer Survey and the Ruby Hutchinson Memorial Address, presented by Ross Gittins AM.
