A Prohibition Order under section 31 (1) of the Fair Trading Act prohibits laser pointers designed to depict or resemble a gun whether or not the depiction or resemblance is realistic or in the nature of a toy or novelty that can cause serious eye injury. The law also prohibits toy or novelty guns to which a laser pointer is attached or of which it is a component.
