However, there are limits to what the law can do when you purchase goods from all over the world. The law can only offer you limited consumer protection in a global shopping environment.

The goods you buy must, as a minimum standard:

• be of acceptable quality, this means they will be safe, durable and free from defects
• match any description or sample.
