Decorating 

For licensing purposes, decorating is the application of painted or applied decorations such as murals, frescos, wallpaper, etc.

Qualifications

(1) Completion of CPC30611 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating:

or

(2) Completion of any of the following qualifications:

  • CPC30608 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or
  • BCG30603 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or
  • BCG30498 Certificate III in General Construction (Painting & Decorating), TAFE course #8063 or
  • Qualification 11766 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating TAFE course #2155 or              
  • Certificate III in Painting and Decorating Trade TAFE course #5129.

Previous licence holders

If you have ever held a licence in the current prescribed classes (Home Building Regulation 2014, clauses 13 and 14, excluding clause 13(a)(ii)) and you apply for a new licence, your previous licence will be accepted in lieu of the current qualification requirements.
