Minor maintenance / cleaning 

For licensing purposes, the class of minor maintenance/cleaning refers to the non-structural maintenance (including minor repairs) or cleaning of existing works/structures/buildings.

Qualifications
Previous licence and supervisor certificate holders

Qualifications 

Pressure washing / graffiti removal / brick cleaning work 

Completion of:

1.  CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction with the following electives and additional units:

  1. CPCCCM2004A Handle construction materials; and
  2. CPCCCM1011A Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  3. CPCCPD3029A Remove graffiti and apply protective coatings;

OR

2.  CPC10108 Certificate I in General Construction, with the following electives and additional units:

  1. CPCCCM2004A Handle construction materials; and
  2. CPCCCM1001A Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  3. CPCCPD3009A Remove graffiti and apply protective coatings;

OR

3.  BCG10103 Certificate I in General Construction with the following electives and additional units:

  1. BCGVE1001B Handle construction materials; and
  2. BCGVE1002B Undertake a basic construction project; and
  3. BCGVE1004B Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  4. BCGPD3009B Remove graffiti and apply protective coatings;

OR

4.  BCG10198 Certificate I in Construction TAFE course #1206.

Repair, resurfacing or application of a protective coating to bathroom tiles, baths, etc 

Completion of:

1.  CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction with the following electives and additional units:

  1. CPCCCM2004A Handle construction materials; and
  2. CPCCCM1011A Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  3. either:
    (i)  CPCCPD3030A/ CPCCPD3030B Apply protective paint coating systems; or
    (ii) CPCCWF3004A Repair wall and floor tiles;

OR

2.  CPC10108 Certificate I in General Construction, with the following electives and additional units:

  1. CPCCCM2004A Handle construction materials; and
  2. CPCCCM1001A Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  3. either:
    (i)  CPCCPD3010A Apply protective paint coating systems; or
    (ii) CPCCWF3004A Repair wall and floor tiles

OR

3.  BCG10103 Certificate I in General Construction with the following electives and additional units:

  1. BCGVE1001B Handle construction materials; and
  2. BCGVE1002B Undertake a basic construction project; and
  3. BCGVE1004B Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  4. either:
    (i)  BCGPD3010B Apply protective paint coating systems; or
    (ii) BCGWF3004B Repair wall and floor tiles;

OR

4.  MSM30216 / MSA30309 Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application

OR

5.  BCG10198 Certificate I in Construction TAFE course #1206.

Non-structural repair work 

Completion of:

1.  CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction with the following electives and additional units:

  1. CPCCCM2004A Handle construction materials; and
  2. CPCCCM1011A Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  3. CPCCPD2013A Remove and replace doors and door and window components;

OR

2.  CPC10108 Certificate I in General Construction, with the following electives and additional units: 

  1. CPCCCM2004A Handle construction materials; and
  2. CPCCCM1001A Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  3. CPCCPD2003A Remove and replace doors and door and window components;

OR

3.  BCG10103 Certificate I in General Construction with the following electives and additional units:

  1. BCGVE1001B Handle construction materials; and
  2. BCGVE1002B Undertake a basic construction project; and
  3. BCGVE1004B Undertake basic estimation and costing; and
  4. BCGCA2001B Handle carpentry materials; and
  5. BCGCA2002B Use carpentry tools and equipment; and
  6. BCGPD2003B Remove and replace doors and door and window furniture;

OR

4.  BCG10198 Certificate I in Construction TAFE course #1206.

Previous licence and supervisor certificate holders 

Reissue of expired unconditioned licences and supervisor certificates

If you have ever held a licence or supervisor certificate in the current prescribed categories (Home Building Regulation 2014, clauses 13 and 14, excluding clause 13(a)(ii)) that was not subject to restrictions or conditions and you apply for a new licence or supervisor certificate, your previous licence or certificate will be accepted in lieu of the current qualification requirements.

Reissue of expired licences and supervisor certificates held in the last five (5) years that were subject to conditions or restrictions

If you have held a licence or supervisor certificate in the last five (5) years that was subject to restrictions or conditions in the prescribed categories (Home Building Regulation 2014, clauses 13 and 14, excluding clause 13(a)(ii)), we will assess your application and reissue you a licence or certificate that reflects the scope of work that your licence or certificate covered. This may include being subject to conditions or restrictions.
