We have published updated guidelines for charitable fundraising which explain the requirements and obligations of fundraisers in NSW.
The guidelines will help reduce red tape for charities and increase compliance by making the legislative requirements clearer and easier to understand.
They clearly explain the regulatory framework that governs charitable fundraising, and provide guidance on what can be considered a charitable purpose and what people should do before conducting online appeals and crowdfunding.
The guidelines also cover topics like the scope of fundraising activities, organisational requirements and what record keeping and reporting is required.
