Have your say on changes to community schemes laws
The NSW Government is modernising community schemes laws to give residents and commercial occupants more flexibility and better governance.
Public feedback is sought on two draft Bills which introduce the proposed reforms presented in the 2014 Community Schemes Law Reform Position Paper.
These Bills will align community schemes laws with the major 2015 strata reforms and incorporate feedback from the implementation of the strata laws.
People impacted include those in community, precinct and neighbourhood schemes, which also covers rural subdivisions and large closed communities. There are about 1,400 community schemes operating in NSW.
Public consultation on the draft Bills is open from Thursday, 5 December 2019 to Friday, 28 February 2020.
The Bills are expected to be introduced into Parliament in 2020.
