Check pool register before inspection

Summer brings more opportunities to use a swimming pool and a strong reminder about pool safety.

With people more likely to focus on ensuring their swimming pool is compliant, private A1-A3 certifiers may be asked to inspect more pools over the coming months.

Before inspecting a pool, check the property record on the NSW Swimming Pool Register.

The pool barrier needs to comply with the requirements applicable when the barrier was constructed.

The register tells you the date of construction so you can assess the barrier against the relevant Australian Standard; if there are any exemptions from barrier requirements; and the result of any past inspections by the council.
