CPD for builders and pool builders

It’s up to you to choose the learning that suits you and your business.The cost of learning will depend on the activities you choose and any money spent on CPD could be tax deductible if it’s a work related expense.

1 point per hour activities

Seminars, workshops, conferences, forums, news or trade sessions, short courses, online or CD-rom based courses.

Delivered by, for example:

  • Industry associations eg. MBA, HIA or SPASA
  • Government agencies eg. Fair Trading, Building Professionals Board
  • Suppliers of materials and/or services
  • Manufacturers of new products
  • Private training companies and/or Community Colleges and Adult Education Centres.

2 points per hour activities

Formal assessed learning from a relevant Australian Training Package or an Australian university qualification.

Delivered by, for example:

  • TAFE
  • MBA
  • HIA
  • Other registered training organisations
  • An Australian university.

Other CPD points

Employing an apprentice or trainee under a formal training arrangement and/or partner or associates learning.

Detail

  • Partner/associate undertake 1 and 2 points per hour learning
  • Employing apprentices/trainees.

Free home building seminars

NSW Fair Trading delivers free, two-hour seminars at various locations throughout NSW throughout the year.

Builders and pool builders can earn two Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points by attending a seminar.
